Since 1993, Soul Grind Skate Shop has been serving the Pacific Beach community with quality skate gear, friendly service, and a genuine love for skateboarding. More than just a shop, Soul Grind is a place where locals, visitors, surfers, and skaters come together to share stories, get expert advice, and stay connected to the lifestyle we all love.

A New Chapter.
Since 1993, Soul Grind Skate Shop has been part of the Pacific Beach community, serving generations of skaters with quality gear, expert advice, and genuine customer service.
Founder Pablo Smith spent more than 20 years selling skateboards at San Diego's Spring Valley swap meet before opening a tiny 10-by-20-foot storefront in PB with the help of local artist Phil Goodrich. What started as a small neighborhood shop grew into a local landmark, built on a passion for skateboarding and a commitment to treating people right.
Today, Soul Grind enters a new chapter under the ownership of Jen Smith, a two-time World Longboard Champion who grew up immersed in the surf and skate culture her father helped create. While carrying forward Pablo's legacy, Jen remains committed to the same values that have guided the shop for more than three decades: authentic service, community, and a love for the lifestyle that brings us all together.

Pablo S., Soul Grind Founder & Owner
His business is selling skateboards but his love is surfing. Growing up in San Diego Pablo was always looking for a way to make a living and still get in the water every day. Soul Grind has set him up with the right platform to do just that. He enjoys surfing in his free time just for fun and also competes regularly in his age group in the California Coalition of Surf Clubs. As a part of Pacific Beach Surf Club he is able to share the stoke of surfing with the community through fundraisers, special events and competition. This is not to say that Pablo doesn't put his time in at the shop and works hard to keep the doors open so that you, our valued customer, can come in and get what you need to keep you skating. 😎
